You pose a good question. Why do we keep electing older people to office? I think the answer is that too few younger people have stepped up to the plate. Mandatory retirement based on age is silly. At 62 I am more tech savvy than most of the students I teach. Oh, they can do Tik Tok just fine, but ask them to share a document on Google so they can work collaboratively or ask them how to format something in Word and they are lost. Age isn't the problem. Incompetence is.
