You are correct on all 5 points. I stopped giving homework years ago for the very reason you point out. In my 34 years, I have known A LOT of administrators BEFORE they became administrators. They knew where the money is, and it's not in the classroom. They were OK teachers, but not great. The purpose of schools was exposed this year during the pandemic - to provide daycare so parents can work. That, and to teach children to obey authority and tolerate boredom. Excellent article and to the point!
