Why Donald Trump Will Not Win in 2024
This is not 2016
As I write this, there are a number of people in the United States and elsewhere that are pretending someone other than Donald Trump will be the Republican nominee for president in 2024. One of them is the former Nimrata Randhawa, who goes by the name Nikki Haley now. Ron DeSantis, the Dark Lord of Florida, is also entertaining pipe dreams about how he might outmaneuver Trump for the nomination. It’s hard to say what Mike Pence is thinking or not thinking.
My neighbor down the road is my personal barometer for what is going on in the Republican Party. During Trump’s time in office, he had a three-foot-high picture of Trump’s scowling face on his front door. He also had an 8X4 foot Trump flag hanging from his garage. He was an ardent Trump supporter.
When Trump was defeated in the 2020 election, my neighbor took down his Trump flag and put one up that read “Fuck Biden.” While I have never personally discussed the issue with him, it is probably a safe bet that he believes the election was stolen.
About six months ago he took down his “Fuck Biden” flag and put up a flag for Ron DeSantis. Seeing that flag flying from his garage made me immediately slow down and take note. At the same time, I also noticed the giant-sized Trump face was missing from his door. Apparently, my…
