When white people think of other white people with guns, they think of hunting, target shooting, and self-defense. When they think of black men with guns, they think of crime. Can you imagine the impact on the 2nd amendment supporters if they saw thousands of black men open carrying in support of the 2nd amendment? The NRA would probably disband.
