When my dad was in his 80s, he had to have a pill organizer so that he didn't forget to take a pill, or to prevent him from forgetting he already took one and then took another. What a mess. I am about to turn 65 and take no pills other than an occasional aspirin. I will take one that are medically necessary and exercise the scrutiny you speak of. In the end, no matter how many pills you take, you will die.
