Weird Stuff I Eat

Am I the only one who eats this stuff?

It was recently called to my attention that, at times, I eat “weird stuff.” I am the first to admit I am intrepid when it comes to experimentation, at least with food. I will try anything twice. As a matter of fact, there are only two things I can think of that I won’t eat.

I will not eat okra soup, or okra in general unless they fry the hell out of it and get rid of the sliminess. I simply cannot put anything in my mouth that looks like it just came out of someone’s nose.

I like just about anything on a pizza, including pineapple. The one ingredient I will not consider on a pizza, however, is anchovies. Don’t get me wrong. I love fish. I like fried fish, baked fish, fish tacos, or fish soup. I will eat it with the head on or off. I will even eat a little raw fish on sushi. Fish, however, has no place on a pizza. I won’t do it. I’m sorry.

Other than that, anything goes. I love lengua tacos, curried goat, and all wild game. I will eat ham hocks, pigs feet, and Rocky Mountain oysters. I will even eat regular oysters, squid, and every other kind of seafood I can think of. I will eat liver, beef heart, and chicken gizzards. I can’t think of any fruits or vegetables I don’t like either, though I will admit it took me a little while to warm up to Brussels sprouts.
