We used to keep 10 hens on our little 4-acre organic farm. The eggs were wonderful, and watching them was delightful. The winters, however, were tough. Keeping them warm was a chore. We eventually sold our hens and decided to just grow organic fruits and vegetables instead, but I will never look at a dozen eggs in the supermarket the same way ever again.
