We have a lot of red winged blackbirds here on our little farm. They own the pond and let you know when you have entered their territory. I found it interesting that what most people identify as the red winged blackbird is the male. The female is a very ordinary looking brown bird that is smaller. Your observations of nature and experiencing the death of someone close to you brings back feelings I have toward some of my losses. Wonderful ending.
