Tyre lost his life for a number of reasons. The militarization of the police is one. These officers (all races) see themselves as warriors, not police officers. To what degree were these 5 officers were trying to prove their worthiness to the white officers is anyone's guess. Or maybe they were blaming guys like Tyre for the racism they experience in their own lives.
