I don’t watch television anymore. It’s been several years now since we ended our cable service. The quality of programming just wasn’t worth the price Spectrum Communications wanted. Instead, I rely on a plethora of news websites to ferret out what is left of the truth.

I read yesterday that Ron DeSantis “suspended his campaign,” which is a flowery way of saying he dropped out. I knew a number of people who “suspended” their college education when they failed all their classes because of partying too much. At any rate, DeSantis is no longer campaigning to win the Republican nomination.

Then he threw his support to Trump.

That might have raised some people’s eyebrows, but not mine. After all, wasn’t Trump the guy he was trying to defeat? If washing the orange off the Republican party was his goal, it would seem like throwing his support to Nikki Haley would be the logical thing to do. But that was not his goal or anyone else’s.
