The terms "Black" and "White" are oversimplifications of the complex ethnic backgrounds people have. The term "White" tosses together a wide variety of people who have little in common other than the term other people use to describe them. Is Jewish person white? How about a Greek or Italian or Hispanic? The same goes for "Black." Is an Ethiopian immigrant the same "Black" as an African-American? How about an immigrant from Morocco or Libya or Egypt? Our quest to oversimplify gets us into trouble.
