The SCOTUS has become a dysfunctional pawn in the political tug of war between the left and the right. They definitely need to expand the court, and I think they should end lifetime appointments and instead appoint them to 10 year staggered terms. Let every president appoint one or two. Appointments do not have to be such a high-stakes chess game.
