The ruling oligarchy requires that workers be too busy and too tired to think. This is the governing logic of the workplace. If workers actually have time to think, they would come to the conclusion they are being taken advantage of. They would also have time to become involved politically. Thinking and becoming involved politically would endanger the hegemony of the wealthy ruling class.
