The Republicans want to move on because they are afraid this will damage their prospects in 2022. They couldn't care less about unity, as demonstrated by their hurried confirmation of Amy Coney-Barrett and the denial of hearings for Merrick Garland. I am all for unity and moving on - AFTER Trump is impeached and removed, and those who were responsible for the right wing coup are in prison.
