The problem with those statistics is that if a vaccinated person contracts COVID, but is asymptomatic, they will not get tested but can still spread the virus. I think the 1 out of 5000 is inaccurate because of underreporting. The UCSF has no way to know how many vaccinated asymptomatic people there are out there spreading the virus.
