The problem with third parties is that they have always formed to the left of the Democrats, or to the right of the GOP. These parties are fringe parties with a short lifespan. A truly viable third party should form in the middle and call itself The Moderate Party and draw from conservative Dems and liberal Republicans. That would leave the progressives to form on the left, and the Trump party on the right.
