The original idea from the Democrats was to give everyone $2000, but they could only get $600 past the GOP Senate. Now the way is clear for them to turn the $600 into the original $2000 by adding $1400. I don't remember anyone promising $2000 on top of the $600. I think it's a great idea, but I don't think that is what was promised.
