Ten Questions Just for Fun
An exploration of irrelevant and random questions
I never write about things like this, but after reading a short piece by Shanti C K, I thought I would give it a go. I am always looking for something new to write about, and I guess this qualifies. What follows are the responses of a sanity-curious, retired teacher who is marching bravely into the fog.
1. What is your favorite way to make eggs?
I love eggs, and I raised chickens long enough to know why pasture-raised, organic eggs cost as much as they do and why they are worth the price. That said, I can’t think of a bad way to make eggs.
I like sunnyside up, over-easy, scrambled, hard-boiled, deviled, pickled, and, of course, eggs Benedict. Did I miss any?
If I am ordering eggs at a restaurant or making them for myself at home, I most likely will choose over easy. I like to dip my whole wheat, buttered toast into the soft yoke, or let the yoke bleed into a hot pile of crispy hash browns.
The snarky side of me thinks the best way to make eggs is to plop them into a bowl with some flour, sugar, a little bit of baking powder, and some milk and make a cake, preferably with peanut butter frosting. Some people out there might not consider this an egg, technically…
