Strange Encounters in Restaurants
Sometimes I swear I’m on another planet
I don’t eat out a lot. I have always figured for the amount of money I pay for a meal in a restaurant, I can make four or five meals at home. I also know who made the food and how it was made. And to be perfectly honest, I am a reasonably good cook if I do say so myself.
But that is not what this article is about.
Anyone who eats out very often is bound to see unusual behavior and events at the restaurants they go to. Unruly customers, awkward waitstaff, and unexpected situations can all contribute to a memorable eating experience. Memorable, however, is not necessarily good. Some events can humorous, to be sure, but others can be irritating, or even offensive.
The Walk-out at Subway
If you have ever eaten at a Subway (who hasn’t?), you already know your sandwich is made to order in an assembly-line fashion. It is a fairly efficient system, so long as everything goes as planned.
This particular Subway in Minnesota had something I had never seen before and have not seen since — a drive-thru window. The person who thought of this seriously miscalculated how difficult and time-consuming it is to order a Subway sandwich over an intercom where the customer can’t see the ingredients…
