Rejection rarely results in warm, fuzzy feelings. Yes, I admit I too have been rejected more times than I want to remember. Generally I am OK with it, especially if it is my fault (submitting a piece that really doesn't fit the publication's purpose). Some editors try to rewrite my entire piece. When I encounter one of those editors, I look to see if they ever write anything or if they are just armchair quarterbacks. Most of the time in those circumstances I just pull the piece and either submit it elsewhere or self-publish.
