The Democrats are at another fork in the road
Like so many other people these days, I have a love-hate relationship with the news. On one hand, I can hardly stand to listen to what I am being told. I want to go on a never-ending news fast and just retreat into my own little world. On the other hand, just below the surface, I have a fear of missing out on something big that might happen.
Admittedly, much of my concern circles around the same person so many other people are concerned about, Donald Trump. I am sick to death of seeing his face. I can hardly stand the sound of his voice. Yet there he is, always on the front page of almost any news outlet I can think of. I want him to go away, and he won’t. I fear what he is going to do next and to whom. I worry about the future, not only of this country, but of the world in general.
Have we reached the point of no return? That question haunts me.
With Trump’s party essentially in control of all three branches of the federal government, there doesn’t seem to be much those of us opposed to Trump can do outside of protesting and supporting each other the best we can. It feels good to know there are others who feel as I do, but it doesn’t really change anything.
