My son is biracial. My first wife was from Jamaica, and I am white. It is interesting how many people expect him to identify with the black experience here in the U.S. He understands it, but not from having lived it. His Jamaican grandfather was a doctor and my son spent a fair amount of time in Jamaica where white people are not in charge of everything. He has friends of all ethnicities and seems to navigate well in this confusing world. Great article.
