My first principal said this to me and it always stuck.

…teacher asked a 30 year veteran teacher how do they know when they've become an expert at teaching. The 30 year veteran teacher said, "When I find out, I'll let you know."
Someone (don't remember who) once told me something that's always on the back of my mind.
