Money in Germany was almost without value in the 1930's. In the US, the problem was just the opposite. Since there was almost no demand due to the Great Depression, prices were extremely low going well into the 1950's and beyond. My parents bought their house in 1946 for $5000 and their monthly house payment was $25.
