Writing on this platform lately has felt a lot like being a member of the band that played on the Titanic. When I scroll through my feed, I see fewer and fewer of the old, familiar names that I once did. My numbers, like those of so many others, have nosedived. Each day I read that people are leaving. Gone are many of the writers I once looked forward to reading.
It’s been a long time since I’ve seen some of the familiar names in the comments section of my pieces. I spent the last five years cultivating a loyal readership, and now it seems bit by bit it is crumbling away, and I find myself even more grateful than ever to those who have stayed.
Just yesterday I received this note in the comments of one of my pieces:
I wish I could say this was the only message like this I have received. Jason Provencio, a writer and the manager of Bouncin’ and Behavin’ Blogs, said he will not publish on this platform anymore until they fix this mess. Many others too have stated their intention of either leaving altogether or at least publishing…
