These Christmas songs are among my favorites

It’s time to take a break from writing articles about COVID-19, my discontent with the American government, and musings on other aspects of my life. The Christmas/Solstice season is upon us, and for me, one of the best aspects of this season is the music. No other season of the year has such a rich and varied selection of music associated with it.

For this article, I picked five songs that are lesser-known. Sometimes the song itself is not as widely known, and in other instances, the artist performing it is lesser-known.

In any event, it is my hope you can take a few moments out of your busy day and just relax to this music. I think it will be time well-spent.

Same Old Lang Syne by Dan Fogelberg

This song is based on a true story. On Christmas Eve,1975, Dan Fogelberg was visiting his family in Peoria, Illinois. They were in the process of making Irish Coffees when they realized they had no cream. Dan ran off to the nearby convenience store to buy some.

Unbeknownst to him, at the same time, his old high school girlfriend, Jill Anderson, was on her way to the same store to buy…
