I've used Google Classroom and I wouldn't use that feature either. I was always willing to accept late work, but I also wanted a reason why the student felt I should make the exception. All reasons are not created equal. I have little sympathy for the kid who was up every night playing video games and blew it off. I had total sympathy for the kid who was working at McDonalds to help out at home.
