It's not so much turning a blind eye as it is admitting we are helpless to do anything about it. Our government makes the decision on who to assist, not us. And why is Ukraine more deserving than Palestine or Mexico or Yemen or Syria or any other country where it is awful for the people living there? As for COVID, we too were forced back into the classroom and many got COVID.
