It's been 14 years since my first wife and I divorced when I was 52. Financially it was catastrophic. It was basically like being 18 again, only worse because I had child support and alimony to pay. It was a long fight back. But here I am, remarried, and I don't regret it. I am much happier than if I had stayed. Half of all marriages end in divorce. The other half end in death.
