In my career I have worked in 2 schools that used restorative justice/practices/measures. The staff went through a good deal of training by knowledgeable people. The problem in both situations was mostly student buy-in. Students often used restorative measures as a way to avoid punishment and then laughed about it afterward. I'm not saying it doesn't work. It does, but only with students who want it to. The sad fact is many don't.
