In 1979 I worked in a paper mill and was paid $11.25 per hour. Today, in my retirement years, I have a side job at Home Depot that pays $11 per hour. Both jobs required the same level of education, and are both about the same physically. $11 per hour in 1979 is roughly equivalent to $73,000 per year in today's dollars. So......what happened?
