There is something about this time of year that makes me want to write. I’m not sure why. Maybe it is the reflective nature of his holiday season that makes us remember old times. Christmas trees, candles, carolers, and snowflakes swirl together to give us a season unlike any other time of the year.

I like Christmas movies, even the corny and predictable ones on the Hallmark Channel. I also love reading pieces about Christmas past, memoirs, and special things that happened during the holiday season in years past.

If you started following me only recently, these are some pieces you might have missed, and I offer them here for you to take a look at. If you have been reading my stuff for a long time, you probably read one or maybe all of these. Feel free to give them another look. They’re not half bad if I do say so myself.

Is LOL and appropriate thing to use in writing?

Last year I wrote a piece about the night Dan Fogelberg recounted in his song Same Old Lang Syne. It tells the story of how my high school girlfriend called me on Christmas Eve months after we had broken up and asked if we could go for a ride. Little did I know that 350 miles to the south, Dan Fogelberg was doing something very similar at the same time.
