If the GOP had a slim majority in the senate and there was one member squarely in the middle the way Manchin is for the Dems, the GOP would tell that senator to toe the party line or they will primary him. THAT is how the GOP is different from the Dems. Instead, the Dems let Manchin the Tail wag the whole Democratic Dog.
