I was dismayed at how many people in a recent poll said they would be fine with an AI companion instead of a real spouse. I can't remember the percentage, but it was much higher than I would have expected. I think of just how much Medium has changed my writing - shorter paragraphs and shorter pieces to appease the shorter attention span of readers.
