I totally agree. There are a number of other problems with tipping too. For one, it breeds racism. None of the waitstaff wants to wait on people who they think will be low-tippers (code for non-white). If I tip, I am paying part of their salary. Why can't I deduct that on my taxes they way their employers deducts the part they pay the worker? It is time to stop tipping and just pay decent wages.
