I think the only thing that can save this country is the creation of a new party - in the middle. The Moderate Party would draw from both sides. The Progressives would be free to organize as they see fit, as would the Trumpists. No one group would have a clear majority, which would make coalition-building imperative. The 2-party winner-take-all has raised the stakes too much for this country to continue doing this.
