I tell people not to be any more loyal to your employer than they are to you. What employer gives 2 weeks notice when they are going to fire you? I snapped a hard line years ago that I work for pay, and they pay me for work. I've said at school that if I was looking for a volunteer opportunity, it wouldn't be at school, so forget the late meetings and all the other unpaid stuff. Sadly there are a lot of employers who are abusive. There is a time to pull the plug and walk off.
