I teach at an all-black school in north Milwaukee in one of the worst parts of the city for violence. This is my 6th year there. To date I have had 9 current or former students murdered by gunfire. As of today, there have been 122 homicides in Milwaukee in 2022. I know 2 of them because I taught them. I have heard gun shots sitting at my desk in my classroom on many occasions. And then there is the issue of stolen cars and high speed crazy driving........
