I taught high school for 36 years. I think the problem is that as much as we attempt to reconfigure schools, we always go back to the Sept through May, Monday through Friday, 8 am to 3 pm model. We still give grades A through F. We still assign GPAs. That is what we did when I began my career in 1987, and that was what we did my final year in 2022. The world has changed, and unfortunately our concepts of what constitutes schools and learning hasn't kept up.
