I take some solace in knowing that the second term of a president historically has always been a failure. Nixon resigned. Reagan was devoured in the Iran-Contra scandal. Bill Clinton was impeached. The economy collapsed for Dubya, and Obama limped to the finish line, achieving almost none of what he hoped to.
