I simply refuse to spend money on my classroom, period. Doing so simply enables the people who are SUPPOSED to be doing it to not do it. In many ways teachers who spend a lot of money on their classrooms are helping to create the situation they are complaining about. Just stop. Let those in power see the bare walls and the lack of materials and stop covering for them by spending your own money.
