I love the birds. The redwing blackbird's arrival is our official start of spring. We watched a nest of robins right outside our window nurture their babies until they were grown this summer. We have ducks and geese in our pond, and sandhill cranes land in our fields often. The dee-dee-dee of the blackcapped chickadee is a common sound around here, and no one is better dressed than the male and female cardinal, who look like they are on their way to prom.
