I just retired from 36 years of teaching history (I don't teach it. I remember it. LOL). I also was raised Catholic and attended a Catholic school. I agree with everything you put out there. One observation: there might be fewer Christian people in the U.S., but they are becoming increasingly vocal and activist. They are the ones vying for control of school boards and are spearheading the banned books movement.
