I have been a performative reader since I was a kid. I remember in high school the kids in my class actually asked me to read when we were reading out loud in class. I feel very comfortable doing it, and I know when to pause, raise my voice, emphasize something, or whatever. Those AI-generated voices are so bland. I have been toying with the idea of recording my own pieces with my voice and making them available to anyone who wants to listen.
