I grew up without a/c in Wisconsin, where the summers are often hot and humid. Compounding that was my bedroom being upstairs where the heat rises to. I didn't actually have a/c until I was an adult in the 1980s. My classroom didn't have a/c either, and some days the outside temp was in the 90s. Oh, and we had to wear masks because of COVID. I feel your pain.
