I didn't say there weren't rules. There are. I am simply making the case that in the English language there are too many, so many that it actually inhibits people from even trying to communicate via writing. If we simply obey the rules of English, we would all sound like Geoffrey Chaucer. The rule breakers gave us the language we have today.
