I completely agree with you. The Dems have not spent enough energy grooming their next generation, which is why their last 2 presidential nominees have been in their 70's, and their Speaker is 80. Buttigieg is being groomed for future offices, but unless he is doing something, he will never obtain the credentials. Mayor Pete isn't even a mayor anymore. He would never win a congressional seat or senatorial race in Indiana either. This is a safe place for him that keeps him visible.
