I can so relate to what you wrote. I teach in the inner city, and in the past 2 years I have had 7 current and former students murdered. I have several more that are incarcerated for serious crimes. The first one was that hardest. That damn empty desk in my classroom. All 7 were young black men. All were shot. No one was arrested in any of the cases.
