I began writing almost as early as I could pick up a pencil and make letters. Awhile back I wrote a piece I titled "The Loneliness of the Long Distance Writer;" where I had much the same feelings you articulate here. It's a long journey. That is how I think of it, and the pieces I produce are just stopping points along the way.
