I am the white father of a 24 year old black/white biracial son. I share your concerns and worries. I cannot begin to tell you how incredibly awkward it was for me to explain to him why I have this white privilege and he does not, and why he needs to be careful in situations where I don’t. I teach in a high school that is 99% black, as is the majority of our staff. I worry about my students and co-workers every single day.
